Back home now. It was chucking down with rain in Copenhagen where I changed planes.

As I was flying in over Aberdeen I could see heavy frost on the grass and roads, left from the night before. Currently -2 here - and in our little frost hollow it has been below zero all day. DP is -4, pressure 998mb and on the rise.

A very special day here in the lake district. Early freezing fog over Windermere dispersed mid morning to reveal glorious sunny blue clear skies and mountains of white. Went walking over hills near Grasmere, superb, the fog rolled in over the valleys and lower ground near Windermere with tops sticking out, a photographers dream. As I said a very special day, tonight is bone chilling with freezing fog again.

Hopefully a repeat performance tomorrow, and fingers crossed we may get some low level snow next week, all very seasonal indeed, long may it continue!

Have a speacial weakness for the Lake District DL and enjoyed your post. Please keep them coming and trip reports if you have the time. I have to make do for the time being in seeing the Lake District from webcams and agree that Skiddaw, Langdale and Scafell looked magnificant, but when don't they. If only I didn't have to work down here...ah well back to the land of dreams
