Hi all,

Took a trip up to the top of Ben lawers yesterday, the road up to the car park was tricky with only four wheel drives getting through. The temperature at the car park was -8c when we started! There was also a foot of fresh snowfall. Anyway, on with the pics... i have over 100 so i may keep posting more if people want them :)

Edit: Never meant to post so many, they should be worth it though!

Thanks guys, it was good fun  It was actually Scotland believe it or not. Very strange to get those sort of conditions with relatively low pressure! It felt like Canada.

Snow and bright sunlight don't seem to make easy photography so you have done a very good job of those pictures - spectacular scenery as well!

Amazing photos Ross!

I bet it's been a few years since there was so much snow at this time of year.

I got some nice photos of this mountain with a thick covering of snow a few years back, just a shame I had a film camera so i've got no idea where they are! We only walked a little way from the car park though.

Makes me want to go back so much, thanks for posting

The snow line was down to about 200m. There was an inch of snow in Crianlarich which i think is around that height.

The freezing fog over the frozen loch was really amazing in the morning, i couldn't stop to take pictures though as it was a little to dark then.

They are so beautiful, just goes to show that upland Scotland is still firmly part of the arctic in winter

Cheers guys, it is 1214m high i think John :D It isn't to long a climb compared to other munros, although you need to go over the top of another munro to get there and back up again to the top of Lawers... so technically it was 2 munros.

Didn't need the crampons yesterday, could have used them quite low down actually, the path was very icey. I used the ice axe but i could of managed without that albeit it would have been more difficult.
