Well after it starting off at around -3C/-3C around midnight, it warmed to 0C/-1C and although the DP is still below freezing, we still got some heavy snow, but intermittent sleet too.

Hopefully some wintry showers during the day today.

its been barely above freezing here for 3 days, down to about -6 at night and even when I took the bin out last night frost had formed on the car. A reasonable chance of some snow then you might think? No

i've never seen a morning quite like it, to follow the rain, sleet and hail we have now had a heavy snow shower. There's now an inch or so of what can only be described as sludge on the ground!

4" or more of snow has fallen. The roads have been total chaos around Oldham & Rochdale, have had to abandon my car to get home from work, all the main roads around Saddleworth are near impassible, doesnt seem to have been much gritting!! Also very foggy at the moment, and still hovering around freezing. Pics just taken

PS......its still snowing intermittently
