I've just been into the Dales again to take some photos for you all :)

I drove up to Greenhow Hill, at 410m, which is pretty much the highest passable road at the moment. Above 300m there was still lots of snow, with about 20cm (undrifted) in the shade in the village, which is at 410m too. It is one of the highest villages in England, just behind places like Flash and Nenthead. The snow will stay there a very long time, as daytime temps remain below or just above freezing there. Unfortunately I parked the car next to the road in some snow at one point and it got stuck! :) Stupid really but I managed to push it out again. Enjoy :) Yorkshire looks superb at this time of year. Visibilty was excellent at the top with views to Ingleborough. You can see Wharfedale on the other side as the B6265 descends.

Now some pics of Fewston reservoir, much lower down and close to Harrogate but still plenty of snow.

Oh yeah thanks, that's 385m I think. I wanted to take the road from Oughterslaw, Wharfedale over into Hawes, which goes to 580m, but I thought it might be too dangerous and with 3rd party insurance didn't want to take the risk! :)

Very good pictures, you have an eye for photography. It might be worth entering a few into the Winter photo competition: http://www.netweather.tv/forum/index.php?showtopic=51230

The first was my favourite with the relative isolation and the road leading over the hill in the distance
