Temp was 7 c last night at 22:00 and came down to 3c during the night however in the last hour temps have dropped to 1.9c ... damp and cloudy.

Crystal clear skies with the moon shining brightly in the western sky. The sun was just poking above the horizon as I left the house with a stunning orange sunrise over the city. We're almost at the solstice now so not far off sunrise times turning round (which they do so by end of December). Sunset times have already begun to get later having reached their earliest around the 13th.

It's comforting to know it won't be getting any darker now!

Frost and fog which formed last night, slowly cleared during the early hours as cloudy conditions spread in to the area. Minimum –2.2c, grass minimum –4.1c. At reading time, cold, overcast and dull with slight drizzle. The morning and afternoon saw the cloud thin a little, allowing a few brief bright spells. Less cold than of late, but still feeling rather chilly. Rain set in during the evening with the temperature continuing to rise to reach 6.9c by late evening. Top wind speed, 18mph, SSE.
