I am looking into buying a new weather station but I need one with serious data logging capabilities as

I am often away from home for weeks or even months at a time but want to be able to record data.

I have a PC but obviously could not leave it on whilst away. Most of the weather stations I've looked at

can only store a few days worth of data (at 10-minute intervals); does anyone know of a solution?

If there is a way to store only max/min readings that would be good - is this possible?

You can buy a data logger for the Davis Vantage Pro's. I THINK it will store data while the pc is turned off but i'm really not sure for how long it stores the data if it does

Edit: Just checked, you can store up to 6months on it :)

Thats if your budget can stretch to that!

You could, and it would probably be the cheapest solution. If you got a USP device to take over and shut it down safely in the event of a power cut, you'd have nothing to worry about.

I had my VP2 connected to a machine in the shed which was on for months on end..until it died of old age.
