Remarkable differences already this month with the last 12 hours providing nearly 100mm of rain in parts of West Somerset/East Devon while East Somerset/Wiltshire, including here, have had no more than 2mm!

I unfortunately haven't bothered keeping a record so I cant post it here :D but I thought I'd point out that 24mm has fallen in less that 2 hrs and you only had 23.3mm in May :D

v jealous of your rainfall totals. Here on the coast in west dorset we have had a paltry 20mm in May and only 13mm in June, 11mm of that being on the 6th so things are getting a bit desperate, Hence the name microclimate, every shower heading our way has either evaporated or split with rain going either side. I've got my fingers crossed for some rain tomorrow but I'm not holding out much hope.

Very interested in your stats, Microclimate. Here in the NW of the county (not too far from Yeovil), we had 42.5mm in May and June's total is 83.5mm. The latter is composed of three days with big totals and not much else! 6th gave 26mm overnight, 25th was 23mm and 26th was 15mm. Of the 15mm on the 26th, 14mm fell in half an hour from 18.00 GMT in a very isolated shower. Less than a mile down the road there had been none at all.

yes i know it was a very poor month in May. Notice June has beaten May's rainfall significantly :girl_devil: Primarily because of the annual monsoon we had at the beginning - still that is now 4 months in a row with significantly below average rainfall! :D

JUNE 2009 - WARM, SUNNY, DRY

The monthly mean temperature was 0.9C above the June average, but the first half of the month tended towards cool and unsettled. June's only true hot spells occurred at the beginning and end of the month, and brought no thunderstorm activity. The rainfall total was 50% of the monthly average which fell almost wholly in the first half of the month - only 1mm fell on just one day after the 15th. There was a normal mixture of sunshine and duller weather and the sunshine total for June ended at approx 212 hours - just above the average.
