Rainfall totals are 364mm so far, this is exceptionaly low, and possibly, if it doesn't rain much for the remainder of the year a record low rainfall for all time (but thats unlikely)

Just short of 800 here in the desertified south Peak District. It looks likely to be the driest year since 2005, possibly since 1996, and the first sub 1000mm year since 2005 unless the next 6 weeks are decidedly wet.

Very wet start to November. Over 150mm already.

I have not recorded over 250mm in a month since starting records in this area 7 years ago, although I know well over 300mm fell in one month in the autumn/ winter 1993/94 when I was a student here but not having a gauge out owing to living on Campus.

2009 to date: 1125mm approximately.

I'm stuck on 199.6mm for the month so far; I suspect I'll break that barrier in the next hour or two.

The wettest month I've ever recorded was January 2005 (when Carlisle flooded) with 251.6mm, so I look on course to break that judging by the forecasts. I did see the other day that the wettest month in Cumbria saw over 1800mm fall near the Hartside Pass; that is a staggering amount for one month.

My year to date total is currently at 1121mm. Looks like and neck and neck race between me and Tony H for the wettest member...if you'll pardon the phrase.

Since I last posted, on Tuesday, I've had well over 100mm of rain, bringing my monthly total so far to 310mm (my wettest ever month until now was January 2005 with 251mm, so smashed that) and my annual total so far to 1232mm.

I'll be some way down the list as a moist member.

Monthly total up to 1800 yesterday stands at 122.5mm and very little chance of approaching the record November total of 211.7mm in 2000. Annual total is 881.8mm so still manfully striving to reach 1000mm by the end of the year but unlikely to reach average ( 1068mm )unless the remainder of the year is very wet.

Your current monthly total is phenomenal OON, especially as you're on the 'dry' side of the Lakes and I would think it exceeds any monthly total here in the last 150 years. Buxton has recorded over 300mm on 3 occasions; Jan' 1948, 308.6mm. Oct' 1998, 352.6mm and Oct' 2000, 310.9mm but then again Buxton is about 20% wetter than here on average.

I'll go through the 1300mm barrier shortly. Today has been the 8th day this month when the rainfall has exceeded 20mm, and the monthly total is currently at 376mm.
