    well i was reading in our local news paper yesterday.

    hospitals on alert for chilly start to 2009.

    it goes on to say:the met office has said the chilly conditions seen over the past few days are set to continue into the weekend,meaning a chilly start to 2009.

    And it doesn`t look like getting much better next week either,with sleet and snow showers expected.

    nigel bolton,national forecaster at the met office,said:,i dont think we can expect to see much change in the weather pattern for several days now.

    its going to be dry until sunday.we could get tempretures down to minus three or four in the portsmouth area.

    during the day temps will range from+1 to+3 ,cloudy with some sunshine.

    from monday there is the risk of wintry weather moving in from the west.it could be cold weather with sleet and snow showers early next week.

      Wet March so far with more rain for the rest of the month, but hints of more settled weather early April

      It's been a wet March for much of the UK, with well above average rainfall, though the Northern & Western Isles have been drier than average.
