Currently -2C here on the Merseyside/West Lancs border. Another frost with a little high cloud giving the sky that lovely pinkish hue. Doubt we'll get any precipitation at all now looking at that little system breaking down.

-5.5'C with a freezing fog, due to the temperature having dropped considerably over the last few hours, I'd say another ice-day is possible. If it materialises, it will be the sixth consecutive ice-day here

Another below freezing night, current temp around -1C, at 09.00 we had our first taste of sleet/snow which came down in 10 minutes and covered the roads/paths instantly due to the cold ground.

If we do get a shot at the forecasted snow Monday, it might be fun!

Colder last night down to -4.3C but thick clud and fog again this morning is preventing the temperature rising much after -2C. Might be in for another ice day.

Nice pic *AL*. As you say, if it ever does snow here, it could very fun indeed. At least some people are getting a taste of wintriness falling.

Morning all,

erm, i dont want to sound stupid, but if the temperature is set to be -2/-3C how can precipitation that is being forecast be sleet? (id of thought it would be snow?) Im referring to areas in the midlands on Weds 7th January.

Weather here is clear with a temperature of 1C. Overnight temp with a low of -3

Oddly enough same here, I'm in Reading (at work) and in the last 20mins the cloud has broken up and the sun has come out for the first time in about 5 days.

I might actually be able to ride home tonight without freezing to death halfway home
