Roadside Icicles

Hi all,

Just seen this photo in the online Mail paper.

An icicle sculpture in the trees made by passing cars

splashing up a large puddle.

Thought it was unusual in it's scale and pretty to see.

whatever happened to icicles? never seem to see them anymore

bit like snow i suppose, a very rare occurence

in Skelmersdale, Lancs.

I've seen a lot of icicles this year (not as spectacular as that), I can't remember seeing hardly any in the last 20 years

I've seen them in dorset on the A350 near Blandford, a puddle on the road(normally caused by a leaking pipe or something), cars go by splash the water up etc. so very likely real.

It's amazing the braches didn't brake off under the weight.
