Drove back from Coventry this afternoon, dry with sunny intervals, snow cover intermittently across the fields.

Back here very cold with a sprinkling of snow on the ground.

High this year: 3c so far.

Low this year: -9.4c so far (yesterday).

Rain this year so far: Trace.

Currently: clear, severe frost.

Temp: -5.5c.

Currently 1.5C here and as usual its cloudy. It seems to be constantly the case here that skies never clear at night. So much so that despite being rather cold we've only managed 5 air frosts this winter, with the temperature dropping below -1C just once!

Exactly the same here! 1.3c here and it's once again cloudy. This cold spell, despite coming from the east, isn't as cold or interesting in the east of the country. The warmer North Sea just pumps moisture into the air and keeps the midlands & east under stratus cloud with uniform temps day & night - mostly just above freezing. All it does is brings heating bills up without any of the good bits (frost, snow, low temp readings). This is why I'm never fond of easterlies - northerlies being infinitly better at any time of year.
