I set off promptly on my bike at 8am this morning. First I cycled to Crickley Hill then walked up to the top, before riding back down to Leckhampton Hill and walking along the escarpment as far as Seven Springs. Lovely snowy scenes everywhere, and this was before the snow began to thaw later in the afternoon, so there was a covering as far as the eye could see. The snow was about 2cm deep in the town and only a shade deeper on the hilltops with about 3cm. I took a few pictures and here are the results:

Nice set of piccies, would have liked to have got up on the Cotswolds myself but had to go to work and had to settle for a quick snowman in the back garden.

Great pics James, surprising how big an area ended up with a good covering of snow, i had roughly the same amount in Worcestershire.

First post here. :winky:

Very nice captures. I especially like the second one, the stone wall.

Lovely scenes there. I think Cheltenham/ Gloucester may have had some of the highest snowfall depths

Thanks very much for all the comments. It was very good to see a decent covering for once :-)

More nice pics there James - I have been particularly impressed by your entries into the photo competition recently, nice one

You obviously have a good eye for a photo.

You timed them well James because the clearing sky on the last pic is quite eerie and really adds to the snow aspect of the shot

Thanks very much :-)

I've been up into the hills again today. You'd have fun with a pair of ice skates! I thought it would have been gritted by now but the road from Aggs Hill to Whittington was glazed with ice! Skid marks everywhere and one broken down car calling the AA lol.

Me, I managed to stay steady on my bike until that corner!!! I gave up after falling off a second time and walked down to Withington (about a mile). And did I mention it was damn cold, I haven't known such consistent cold round here for years.

Down in Cheltenham there is still a good messy centimetre or two of snow in places, where it hasn't been gritted/trampled etc... still laying better on the hills though.

A few more pictures from today:

The view from Aggs Hill. Note the road at the bottom of the picture, plastered in ice:

Thanks weathermaster :o

Just found an interesting link here:

There is some very good footage from Gloucestershire at the beginning, it was Deja Vu at first, I was standing there right by those cows and walked up that very same road on Crickley Hill!
