The snow cover has managed to last the day again, although with a litte more thawing than yesterday due to much more sunshine. The first half of the morning was cloudy due to a persistent patch of altocumululs in the southern quarter of the sky but the late morning and most of the afternoon was dry and sunny.

Slight frost and a few hail showers last night, led to a very icy start to the day, also in the light of a sprinkling of snow yesterday evening. Nice day, dry with sunny periods, light SW breeze but cold air, and the shade ice lasted through until this evening.
