4.5c a fairly mild one, just to even out winter a bit (still a below average winter though which would be good!).

AS I was so accurate with January's, I'll punt for 3.9C this time.

Going back to the winter with all months below the 61-90 average theres only been 2 others since 1965.

1969/70 and 1978/79 so you could say it`s a one in a 15 year event by those years,so I`ve only seen 2 with 1990/91.

I'll go for 2.9c.

I'd like to amend my punt if I may:

1.9c

Hi, this month is a problem. I do believe that we shall see a very cold and widely snowy picture emerge from around 5th Feb for 2+ weeks, thereafter even if the Atlantic does not return in force the sun is gaining height all the time and if we have slack winds then daytime maxes could be quite high esp. for sthn areas; I'm sure mins will compensate but only if skies are clear at night. So I am torn between a chilly 3-3.3 degs or a cold 2-2.4degs. January I plumped for 3degs and am happy with the outcome but only courtesy of a very cold first half. Feb could be similar with perhaps the cold lingering longer so my bet/gamble/instinct this time is to plump for......2.7 (a cold compromise).

Thanks. 2.7 degs it is then!!!

Got to think that the SW will have an effect, and with Feb normally pretty blocked even without the warming up top, I'm going for a temp of:

2.7c

Different pattern to January but similar outcome in so much as a cold first half and milder second half.

A blocked month - with a favourable set up for cold giving way to something approaching springlike conditions in the final week.

2.9C for the month - but as with January, we could be close to zero or below for a significant part of the month

3.6c for me, but only because the very mild last 3rd will make up a fair amount of the loses from the first 2/3rds of the month.
