This evening is vile- light rain but the spray type that *soaks* you completely in minutes - esp at speed on a bike! Traffic, of course, is very heavy which coupled with poor visibility (rain in eyes, headlights blinding off road) and the darkness made for a dangerous cycle home. Roll on spring!!

I empathise, Bottesford, and I feel your pain. I commuted by bike for 15 years, a 32 mile round trip, and tonight's conditions, in the dark, are about as bad as it gets apart from sheet ice.

A dull overcast rather gloomy sort of day here, with light drizzle on and off and chilly to boot - in other words rather unpleasant, more reminiscent of a late autumn day, low cloud and mist hung about all day - don't want many more days like this please! Tankfully the next 2-3 days may offer a bit more brightness.

The absolute worst is indeed weather like today - it's an accident waiting to happen sometimes. Everyone jumps in their cars so roads are packed, you can't see much, brakes don't work as well and its ruddy unpleasent & cold too! November is worse as no ones used to driving in the dark yet so makes it feel even more unsafe.

Sharp comparison to when I moved to this house last July - lots of daylight and light traffic as there were no students/people on holiday. Since I pass through an area with 90%+ students it makes a big difference!

I'll just be glad when the darkness lifts as dark rush hours are anything but fun on a small bicycle.
