Gfs Key Weather Charts Question

Hi,

Just having paid for the Lite Subscrption service on here i am trying to under stand what all the GFS Key Weather Charts are. I see that i have the following showing up on the chart panel (00 , 03 , 06 and so on upto 384). Sorry to ask but what does these numbers mean. Is it the amount of hours from the current time

It is the amount of hours from the time of the run.

OK so am i right saying the GFS runs update at 00hrs 06hrs, 1200hrs

Yep, the GFS model is run 4 times a day. Upto about 84hrs is the highest resolution, then to about 180hrs at a lower res, then after that it is at it's lowest res.

OK so the times are 00z 06z 12z and 18z. Is that the time it updates on the site or when the charts are updated

That's when the models run I think. If it wasn't about to snow like hell, there would be more experts around willing to answer questions!

00z and 12z start to update on site at 3.30am and 3.30pm,06z and 18z update at 9.30am and 9.30pm.
