Can't believe it - the cold weather's hitting on Monday and I'm flying out to African summer for 3 and a half weeks that same evening! Last time we had proper snow back here was in April... and I was in the south of France! Must stop travelling.

Starting dull, overcast, misty and damp with a keen southeasterly breeze. The morning and early afternoon continued overcast and gradually became colder with an increasing SE wind, which gave sub-zero wind chill. The temperature fell to 3.0c by lunchtime and 2.0c by the end of the afternoon when it became brighter. Maximum wind gust 29mph.
