i'm putting myself on the block here, but the thursday/friday snow event looks like its for the south midlands at the moment. i'd go for chipping norton in oxfordshire to be a candidate for a lot of snow, and other parts of the cotswolds. london looks like getting sleet. i maintain that this could all change in what is a very mobile and marginal situation.

10/10! Sorry I've only just read this but I was brought up in Chipping Norton and true to form, my mum has phoned today to say that it's almost a foot deep and the most she has seen since 1963. Perhaps you should join the forecasting team?!

Here are a few from yestreday. Although I have had a bit of a topping up since. Snow cover between 5-7 inches, 8+ in some areas. The camera-phone pic of what appears to be a blue plastic object poking through the snow is my 15cm ruler being swallowed by the fall.

Back at work after 2 rest days so I can take more pics of the snow round West Yorkshire.

Yeadon Stoops pub and Premier Inn, Yeadon.

Icicles and snow waiting to come off the roof in the background.

This shows how deep it is at the moment:

A flavour of a very snowy week in the Lampeter area.

The start of it Monday:

Deep snow Tuesday:

Then a fresh covering today (Saturday) on top of that remaining from Tuesday:

Day off mainly to rest and also get my mother out of the house as she's been house bound for a while now in this weather. Quick drive over the top round peak district. Roads very good which is surprising to be honest. Steady thaw in progress which is good news.

Shrunk the pics down a bit to save bandwidth on netweather.

Yet another covering of snow this morning, this time 3 inches.

It had already melted quite a bit before this pic was taken.

Finally uploading my bunch from the 2nd February - inner SW London (Putney/Wandsworth), a bit was still falling, but the real streamer had been and gone overnight. About 8" in all.

Hi All

Few pics taken from my garden this morning

Includes igloo!

Hi. Was up your way from Sheffield last week.

We were in Towie near Glenkindie. Had a fantastic week, even enjoyed being diverted via aberdeen and having a very slow 2 hour drive through rural aberdeenshire to get to Towie with the 14'' of snow on the ground on the saturday evening!!!

Here are some pics from Towie, Lecht, Dufftown and Tomintoul.
