So will anymore showers make it over this way to keep the dusting a live and upgrade it into a covering?

Latest forecast with Peter Gibbs looked quite good. Showed the band of snow edging west and then pivoting over North Devon and Somerset

This looks good as well I think.

Just needs to nudge a teensy-weensy bit further west at 1800 and Bristol's in the firing-line for snow.

Check out around 2m:00s on this forecast - Bristol is included for about 2.5 hours in area of more significant snow Monday evening.

This may be the triple point?

We hear a lot about Thames streamers, but I was thinking today that there's presumably no reason why one can't have a Bristol Channel Streamer. Well ... is this one just as I write? http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/sw/...test_radar.html

I doubt it as the wind is from a North West direction at present - comimh from inland areas.

In the nicest possible way, let me just say that you need a new compass my friend. Either that or move it further away from the block of iron. The wind is easterly, with at most the occasional north-east component:

Anyone tell me if the radar is picking up showers that could hitmy area tonight?

might be something in an hour or so. There's a large shower going over the mountains north east of Maesteg now. Should hit us soon. it MIGHT just slip south of you though. not worth getting excited about. It looks dead on target for Maesteg though, unless the mountains suck it dry. <_<

edit - yep, the mountains are sucking it dry! :(

Rejuvenated area of precip forming over Essex and sothern parts of Suffolk.

Looks good at the top of this precipitation area is to my ENE, and I think the

precipitation is moving in a direction just east of ENE.

It'll be over in a flash as it's a very small shower area.

I like the new area of showers over Essex and Suffolk. Wonder if these will move over the Greater Bristol area?

Yep you're absolutely right. Clear skies now and the moon is out but still flakes flying around ?? Must be blowing out the back of the cloud or something.

*Definitely* worth keeping an watchful eye on developments over East Anglia now.

Reaches as far north as the border of Norfolk and Suffolk I reckon.

New area of ppn is really getting its act together - and moving our way?

Why does "FutureRadar" always appear to protract the movement of the showers wrong?

Cells are moving E/ENE - W/WSW, but Future Radar shows a cyclonically spinning area of showers over East Englia.

Tell you what - hell of a patch of ppn coming across from Exmoor showing up on all radar at the moment. Must be near Barnstaple, and therefore not too far from us.

Yes the SE look to be getting a plastering at the moment!!!

Some showers heading this way on the radar may just make it.

Colder than GFS forecast currently -3.2c

-3/-4c min on GFS.
