Heavy rain here now after several hours of snow earlier in the evening.

Quite a lot of lying snow still and it will be very icy later if it freezes.

Wow Paul you`ve got one heck of a depth of snow there upto 10inches!!!!!!

A penetrating frost last night down to -4.1c with some snow showers giviing a covering first thing.

Today light snow showers then a dryer slot then heavy snow showers, merging into the snowband heavy, then very fine, now it`s very heavy, drifting all afternoon moderate N/NE wind

Coldest february day since 1994(-5c) only feb 1991 was colder. :D

-1.3c max(-3.5c other read)

3inches of powdery and getting more.

:D

Hi Snowowl, yes today has seen the deepest snow here for 18 years, unfortunatly the temperature has risin above freezing now, currently it's, 0.6c, though still snowing lightly. Looking for clear skies later in the night, and a frost to preserve this wonderful snow. Glad you are seeing some snow too, fingers crossed the cold air further south will dig in shortly.

Paul

Its now 0.0C now but STILL it snows lightly. No snow melt yet but i feel a smidgeon warmer then it will start to melt. Could someone explain why it is going milder now than it has done all today? Is the mild sector over us and is their any colder air coming overnight?

thanks!

Today - a couple of light snow showers melting instantly. Barely any snow cover left from last nights dusting, except in shaded areas.

Not expecting any significant snow here in the north-west this week either, except for the odd flurry here and there.
