Re-started again after a brief pause!

Seens to be a very slight change in wind direction, more N.

0030 MetO radar looks cool.

Snow still falling at a steady rate here, its been going for 6 hours more or less constant here now. ;)

Quite a large covering here now by London standards, 3-4cm estimate.

Damn fine winter.

Hah thanks for the link MCT, some rather drunken snowball fights going on in city centre. ;)

Shouldn't laugh, but just witnessed a guy cycling down the road one handed whilst holding something under his arm............yes you guessed it, he's just wiped out. Got up and continued his journey....walking with his bike!! The snow is relentless, I've not seen anything like this in London before.

Not far at all mate. Some heavy snow showers developing to our east, northeast now......... ;) Could get very interesting for our area again. (Sudbury through to Haverhill).

*For some reason I can't upload a radar image from NW extra 5 min* It shows quite clearly what we could be getting in 30 minutes...... ;)

Looking at some of those pics, we havn't got half that amount, although it has been snowing steadily here in Rayleigh there is probably 3-4 cms at the most although the wind is blowing most of it around

Got probably 2 inches now. Look like things are going to quite down for a while here though. Here's a not very interesting picture.

post-5481-1233536289_thumb.jpg

By the way Andy_Leics, we actually do pretty well in the south east corner. We got 7 inches in 2005 in the far south east (localised since london and north kent didnt get it), and every other year for a while we've had at least 3 inches at some point.

We now have 4 ins of snow here and it's still snowing B)

Croydon Council have declared an emergency based on the latest MetO advice.

We are now expecting in excess of 8 ins + here and more from late morning.

All personal are working flat out and all have decided to take less breaks to help out.

It really is going to be quite bad out there especially late morning with heavier snow forecast.

Please take extra care if you really need to venture out.

I just went out around Notting Hill, it is completely blanketed, but the main thing i noticed was...There isn't one road that has been gritted, there are vehicles really struggling out there, with over 4" of snow, there are gonna be a load of accidents out there, so sorry to be boring, BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!

Beyond that, it is ruddy gorgeous out there, only the sound of the snow rustling and people having snowball fights! Feel like a child again, and a bit cold and soggy. B)

Eerily quiet here, even at this time there is usually a few people out on the roads, the only people mad enough to drive are the bus drivers. :D

I wish i lived in the city centre now so I could go out an join the drunken snowfighting madness. :D

Also no roads gritted here. :o B)
