A cloudy start here with snow flurries and -2c.

About 2cm on the ground generally though slightly more or less in some places.

Woke up to light snow flurries, the thinnest of slightly drifted coverings everywhere, cars grass roads, -2C :D

No i'm doubting with you mate. Although i'm not too bothered with what we have already and the prospects for the rest of the week!Just pray that BBC are wrong!!I WANNA PROPER DUMPING!!!!!

haha yeah me to i want this to be the best snowfall event in many years.

im not sure about the main band it does seem to slide futher east than we would like but hey i dont think its over.

with met office now going for northerly on friday with snow even in the south got to remember that where under a cold pool of air all week and there colder air to the north which where going to tap into wow :D

Wow for sure! I went to bed at 3am. Slept til 6:30 and was wide awake til 730 as was so excited LOL. I feel like a 3 year old! (more than normal) Gonna go back and try for a few more hours kip I think. And try to be here before lunch for the "main" event and see what transpires!

hmm, looks like the main area of snow will pass to our east this afternoon/evening, but we'll still get accumulations, of that I'm sure....I guess its just going to be a case of radar watching now, rather than model watching....and dont forget that further LP's coming in from the SW later on this week have some potential for us Midlanders!

Morning, not much snow overnight here just a light dusting.In the last 10 minutes it's started to come down heavy again and is looking good on the radar for this area.

Edit. It's now very heavy! :)

snow fallign really nicely now, looks like this could continue for a while with quite a few showers still on the way, could just miss us as theyre a tad north....

About a couple of cm here in south Northants, more than I expected as the worse of the weather seemed to be to the north and south of us. Its snowing fairly persistantly now.

Anybody else just loving the fact thats its not a slushy mess, if you understand what I mean. Its nice, proper flakes falling slowly, occasionally getting heavy. This beats any cold spell for me, Im on 17, so for me, this has been a good winter.

yes im by the licky's and yes not a bad covering to be honest we have about 2-3 cms

Sun shining here now!

Forecast implies that the heavy band moving north this afternoon is going miss Hants, however there is a small band of showers hitting us 6am tomorrow morning, could be more sleet than snow......

A good 6-10cms here on the 'Hill. Coming down well with good sized flakes also. Didn't even risk sending the kids to school as it's 11 miles away & forecast to get worse later this afternoon.

Just about to make up a roaring fire. Coffee's on, cuppa anyone ??

Amazing scenes this morning in Leicestershire, 4-5cm on the ground and more showers to come by the looks of it before the main band later this afternoon!!!
