Very heavy snow here now after light snow all morning, the roads are clear here, but this is the type of snow that will soon cover them.

Stay safe all, and enjoy this best thing in years event!!!

I just think back to us all only a week and a half ago, all moaping about coz all the models pointed to it being mild and southwesterly!!!

All good things come to those who wait, and BY GOD have we waited! :D

Just a light covering in Shrewsbury overnight, not even a Cm yet, nothing today so far, hoping that snow from West mids come over this way!

South Shrophire took a bit of a pasting over night.

Just stopped snowing in Lichfield after nearly an hour of continuous moderate/heavy snow. Snow depth now 7cm in our back garden. This event is turning out to be the best snowfall here since feb 8th/9th 2007. To be honest I wasn't expecting to see so much convective shower activity and we still have the band of snow expected later today. In fact I would say that the Midlands could get a real pasting throughout this week if the models are right.

Enjoy the moment!!

thaw has started here in portsmouth although snowing again very slightly.

though it was nice to see but if im honest if we dont get anymore i dont think it will stick in my memory as a classic.

i know i expect to much from winters of now but id love to have a event happen where snow stays on the ground and is falling for atleast a few days maybe a week or more.

but it just does not happen now.

but overall its been different this year and nice to see but i cant see us here in portsmouth seeing much more in the near future but good luck to the rest looks like classic in your areas.

no you are correct although half hour ago it felt very cold but not as cold as i expected.

thaw has started here and no more snow looks likely but some will get a fair bit but the main rain band looks like just brushing the east.

First snow shower of the day, proper flakes and lots of them. Suggests that showers from Brum and Walsall/Stafford are still coming over the west.

Lovely moderate/heavy snow with nice large flakes, heaviest of the day so far.

True winder wonderland today and very happy to see that its still at -1.0c.

Wind has really died off now so snow flakes take a long time to reach the ground, in fact its kind of like they are going round in a tornado :)
