Currently 'flurrying' here...about an inch and a half of laying snow......Needless to say, I've cancelled my planned work trip to cardiff and the SW.....I just dont fancy it after seeing today/tonights forecast!

It seems a more general area of snow is forming from the Thames Streamer up through East Anglia/East Midlands which should hopefully head West and give some more snow here as its rather dry at the moment.

Areas North of London should watch out as the ever approaching frontal system is now causing forcing of the Thames stream to become ever more apparent and has injected more moisture into the stream causing even more precipitation to fall within the past 2 hours. I expect this trend to continue throughout the day as the front continues to push North but gradually the Thames stream will diminish as the wind direction changes as the front moves in cutting off its feed.

Areas to look out for are Central and North London and perhaps even 30 miles further North than the Streamband already, I expect the Meto will issue a flash warning for this anytime shortly.

Looks like the main area of snow will be in the South East this afternoon and move North West through the day.

Some very heavy snow across North Midlands, North Wales & Northern England likely this evening.

Ony 2cm here nothing special and main roads all clear.

Snow supposed to get heavier this afternoon but we shall see. Certainly not a major event so far but I guess a sprinkling in these snow starved years making a couple of cm into a major event. This afternoon may make it so.

I am a little interested in the ppn coming from the french system.

I hear about it stalling and moving west but from what the TV says this wont be true.

Who knows...

Can safely say we have about 1Cm so far lol Extreme baby!

Awesome scenes this morning in Leicestershire, the snowless dome has been smashed wide open...

and still snowing! With the main band to come later on could this be the most significant fall of snow I have ever seen? If it surpasses 3-4 inches then it will be :shok: currently around an inch now.

I do wish that line of heavy snow showers just south of here were a little bit further north.

Just got flakes drifting around here at the moment though hopefully a heavy snow shower will arrive later on.
