Flakes seem to be getting slighty bigger and heavier here. :rofl:

Another 3mm of this and the weans school will be shut for the rest of the week. :D

I'm assuming its snowing on the south side of Fife now. I can see the Fife coast from my window at the top of Leith Walk and it's done a dissapearing act.

What happens now is that I wait for it to get over here ... and wait ... and wait ... and wait ... and then kick the cat ! :rofl:

Edit: the cat is spared... very very fine snow in the wind now here at the top of Leith.

12z GFS PPN for tonight and early tomorrow look disappointing....

Much less PPN around than previous runs.... :rofl:

I wouldn't say it has the precipitation forecast very well for now/the next few hours.. . so we may not need to worry about the GFS :D That may be nitpicking though...

*************BREAKING NEWS*******************

Reports are coming in of an extreme weather event gripping most of Scotland.

Eyewitnesses say between 1 - 2cm of snow has fallen on surfaces.

Our reporter contacted the UK Met Office to ask how much snow was expected to fall. A spokesman for the Meto said "What are you talking about. We don't know anything about any snow?"

Snow has eased off here for the time being. Got a dusting now, everything white :rofl:

Given that we're expecting blizzard conditions here tomorrow and Friday still no warning out from the Meto, quelle surprise!

This will probably just end up wetting the ground so we dont get a dusting later

We had rain all day yesterday, it changed to snow here at around 1am landing on a very wet surface and lying almost immediately, it turned to lighter stuff around 9am but still continued to leave a covering until around 11am all in all it left around 6-8cm of very heavy wet stuff which was a nightmare to drive in earlier this morning even in a 4x4.. maybe you're in for the same tonight :rofl:

yes same here its going to take a while at the rate its coming down need it to be heavier

Yeah, it's very slowly starting to lie on wet surfaces but the flakes are so small it is taking forever! Temperature is down to 0.5c now as well :)

Early days yet folks, the real stuff doesn't get going until tomorrow :)

honestly i am not really going to go with the weather forecasts. they are almost always not accurate", i understand that its harder to forecast weather here in Britain

More like rain than snow in Glasgow

I was outside there and it is snow but really tiny flakes. As the temperature starts dropping it should give a covering but hopefully sooner rather than later.
