i think it has potential to deliver significant snow on higher ground.

Thanks, :cold: Let's just hope Bubba hangs on in there and lets me enjoy the best snow event I have seen for 13 years then :cold:

Still snowing hard and fast in Lincoln - settling very quickly on frozen ground. Gonna have to get a wriggle on and get an early start for work. We lose a day's pay if we try to claim a 'snow day'.

Significant accumulations right across Northamptonshire this morning. :wallbash:

About 3 or 4 inches; just an estimate probably a bit more in reality, snowing still lightly but going by the radar looks as if that'll be our lot for the time being.

Really bad conditions here.. only been falling here for a few hours according to the radar but we have several inches on all surfaces and the more to come it would seem.

Never seen snow accumilate this quickly in this area before... absolutely throwing it down out there... wouldn't rule out 6 inches. :wallbash:

Roads are terrible, all but the main ones are covered in snow.

It started snowing about half hour ago here, really fine grain stuff.

Starting to settle though. about 0.5cm already, even with fine grains!

What are the chances of amounts like that working over here, taking into consideration I am one of the highest points in Sheffield?

I'm just getting worried about getting totally cut off, we still have around 4/5 inch frozen on the ground. I love snow but am slightly worried about getting medical help, should I need it

It's great, isn't it TEITS? <_<

Never seen anything like this, almost 4inches even cover here, heavy snow still coming down, and likely to continue too for hours on end!

woke up this morning at 3.30am to get ready to go to East Midands for a flight to Northern Ireland, absolutley clear with nothing falling, just a slight frost on the car.

As I drove from Grantham to Nottingham startd to snow and settle with a moderate accumulation.

Got in to the airport around 6am, gt through to the gate, flight cancelled due to tecnical problem, then a few minutes later the runway was shut due to the snow. This little lot that was enough to shut the airport came down in about a half hour.

Drove back out of the airport and the roads were white over.

Then battled my way back to Grantham to work, took about 1.5 hours compared to the normal 50 minute journey, and that was with light traffic., the journey back looked a lot different to the journey to the airport.

I am not overstating this, the roads are a lot worse than they were Monday, all this has dropped on to cold ground, the roads are compacted snow now.

Still coming down steadily, not quite as hard.

Hi Gumbo - where are you ? We are in High Bradfield and have had about the same as you. Temp here is -3 up from -5 some time in the night. Radar doesn't show any heavy snow heading our way but a decent covering is likely f we get several hours of the light stuff.
