I had driven on the road to Malham Tarn many times before in winter, and older people have told me the road would block with snow in winters of old.

But i was amazed to see the road completely blocked with a seemingly endless drift.

These Highland mooos seemed to be at home in the snow.

lovely shots of a lovely area

does make you wonder why roads are made between hedges or walls, perhaps a new idea wou;pld be to elevate them above the surrounding area and then most snow would blow off them!

My love of snowdrifts cost me lumber 3 and 4!

If you leap into a drift make sure it's more than waist deep otherwise your upper body carries on whilst your legs/hips are held in a vice like grip.

Result.....not good!
