Still a few light flakes here. Shouldn't be long. But can it really last all night? I need it hold all night, otherwise my gamble of staying up this late won't work. I'm blearly eyed and tired and the prospect of all snow gone by 9am would be a disaster. I need a geniune and valid excuse to work from home, and have a little lie in (8am is very much a lie in for me).

Post from Pyrotech on Snow watch for Wales and south west

Ok going to try to make the position clearer

Percipitation is moving westwards on the radar due to rotation around the depression, the low itself is moving north eastwards and seems to have speeded its progress in doing so shifting everything Eastwards. Places originally forecast to have lots of snow will probably see less and further east have a snow fest. However light snow in Cardiff is not showing on radar and is probably due to warm moist air off the channel. This system has caught a few out today by sudddenly shifting further east after being almost stagnant all day.

On the brightside this is great news for midlands tonight and Glos area and will force changes in the weekend ahead which tomorrow i will check if positive or negative.

The reason we all use this forum is because of the unpredictable nature of UK weather, otherwise we would just watch the BBC and except it, lets not slate them too much as i can see exactly why its changed and snow is always a nowcast for amounts and where anyway.

Winter is not over and its been a great start countrywide. more snow forecast in near future.

U guys in Glos enjoy it you lucky sods but remember its our turn next time.

Night all and its not over till it rains

Any chance of it getting to Shrewsbury and settling, bearing in mind it's been up to 6C today and there was no frost when I looked outside half an hour ago?

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
