Very grey and boring here at the moment , temp currently at -0.1c rising steadily after a min of -5.5c last night..hopefully the snow is on it's way , but looking at the radar(METO) the band of rain/sleet/snow seems to be fragmenting ,i just hope there is a bigger band just off the radar to the west of Eire

Clear and frosty early last night, cloudy by dawn. Intermittent light sleet and snow 11-1400, then cloudy but dry once more. Light to moderate SE breeze veered SW during the afternoon. Another rather cold day with a steady thaw of lying snow. This was the eighth successive day with snow or sleet falling, and snow has lay on the ground for the past 6 days!

Now the fifth consecutive month with lying snow here, seems winters have returned and if North Sea temperatures are to be believed we will see lying snow on occasion for another 3 months if we get any northerly outbreaks.
