Going to be a nightmare tonight when this rain and wet snow freezes. Temps forecast to plummet to -3 overnight, all this is going to freeze over!

Yeah Birmingham will get some brief heavy snow Unfortunately I was right on the edge of those heavy ones, don't be surprised if you get a (probably temporary) covering.

My temperature dropped from 4c to less than 2c in literally a few minutes.

Wow is all I can say, unbelievable. The models, met office, bbc, whoever have got the forecast so badly wrong for the midlands today its untrue. A milder 6'c here to today in Wolverhampton with light rain from 11am onwwards and then this afternoon heavy rain with hail, I was out it in it!. And now at 5.30pm (started at 5:10pm) I have heavy snow and starting to settle on wet ground after only 15min!!!. No way was this forecast for this area today, it was supposed to be dry, sunny and cold. The temp has now dropped to 2'c and falling. Howcome everyone got this so wrong?

Well this is amazing, we have about 1cm now and its settling alot faster than monday night, still snowing pretty heavy too.

I wish there was more of this to come but looking at the radar there isnt anymore showers on the way :D

This is not fair!!!

Only saw rain. :D

Didn't even notice to be honest.

News on the snow melt front is quite grim I'm afraid; thawing has really intensified today with temps peaking at just under 6C.

Still hanging on in there in places but not for much longer.

After heavy rain that turned to snow for about 20 mins, it has now frozen over. Temp of -1.3C and the moon is out with clear, starry skies.

Was snowing lightly at ~ 6pm as I was driving home past Santa Pod and Wymington on the outskirts of Rushden. A little later and bit more on it could have given a tiny dusting. All the fields and shaded areas are still covered here, outside my window that still equates to about 80% of the ground. The Ouse and Nene look like flooding - both at bankfull and spilling out onto the floodplains.
