Great pic Brian :)

Thanks for posting, it's great when ppl take the time to post pics rather than just describing the "blizzard" outside!

Enjoy the snow mate.

Thanks Dave, having looked again, I'd probably say it's more like 4-5 inches, but deeper where it's

drifted. It's difficult to estimate, because I live in the middle of no-where, and there isn't any

street lighting at all. I'm annoyed about the rain though, as I was hoping to take some pictures,

from around the estate tomorrow.

And ofcourse Brian never is seen playing on said tractor....Cough

Great pic mate

If my legs weren't so long, that my knees touched the steering wheel, I'd be on it every day mate :cold:

It's a Massey Ferguson as well, which is my favourite make of tractor.

I have been out and measured. Almost 12cm of snow on the drive, with a little more in garden in places where it has drifted somewhat.

Lovely pic Brian  That is deep snow for sure! I don't care what anyone says, 4-5 inches of level snow is a deep snowfall. I get delighted when 5cm falls here, we got 4-5 inches on the 2nd of Feb and I was sooo happy lol.

Thanks Andy, what made it better still, was I didn't expect anything today, so it was a real bonus

to get this. It really has been a memorable winter for some of us. If the snow is still there

in the morning, it will be my 11th day in a row that I've had lying snow. That's quite an

achievement. :)

A slow thaw is taking place at the moment, with the paths going slightly more slushy now, if these clear skies do come and temps drop below zero then tomorrow morning walk too college will be interesting to say the least.

I love that 2nd pic Gorky, you did alot better than me, i only had 3CM on the grass, the snow was never that heavy for long periods too have the amounts that some have further south.

It's stopped raining here, and the temps have dropped to 1c - so it looks like

I'll wake up to a decent covering in the morning :)

It's pretty much the same here mate. A brief period of rain but still a decent

covering of snow around

Yeah, I'm pleased mate, there's nothing more depressing than a decent snowfall

that gets washed away by the rain.

simply incredible snow this afternoon in North Newbald

That's a big Snowman, did you measure it mate? I think it was Andy or Craig who built one

which was 6ft, so it might be be a Netweather record

Just looked at the temps on here...

http://www.trafficweather.info/roadWeather...p.jsp?client=19

Totally different to normal, the lower temps are on lower ground and close to the coast.

Hedworth Lane - +0.5C, just a few miles from the coast and close to sea level.

Tow Law - +2.5C, Inland and high up, probably over 300m

These temps have swapped around since my post above.

Hedworth Lane - gone from 0.5C to 1.8C

Tow Law - gone from 2.5C to -0.2C

Quite interesting changes. It's 0.7C here so not quite freezing up yet.

Great photo that Gorky!

Classic case today of the unexpected happening - always the best types of snowfall I think - no real warnings or expectations yesterday which will have added to the joy and surprise of those who like snow. NE certainly was the spot to be for snow today and I'm glad because you haven't done quite so well snowwise over the last week or so compared to the rest of england and wales (NW the exception). Now lets hope the NW gets its turn next time, we have been left out so far- but I think our time will come patience is a virtue!

Brilliant!!!! :)

It's starting to freeze a little here, with temps now down to 0c. It's going to be

very dangerous on the roads tomorrow morning.

Have you moved over there? I thought you lived in Newcastle?

At least when Cumbria gets snow, it's probably the best place to be, the Lakes will look amazing!

Good look with future events
