Currently around 2C here and mostly cloudy.

We had around 4cm of snow yesterday evening but it has almost completely melted now.

A shame really, as it means we havent had a snowfall which has lasted more than 12 hours since Dec 2005. It also means we miss out on snow lying at 0900 by the Metoffice definition.

Another cold and frosty start, the minimum temperature fell to –3.2c and –6.3c on the grass. At observation, frosty and bright with a good deal of high cloud, hazy sunshine. Still some old patchy snow surviving in shaded areas of the garden. The cloud thickened through the morning and in to the afternoon producing the odd light snow flurry. Cold, with the temperature only reaching 2.5c by 17:00hrs. Maximum wind gust 14mph, WSW. The evening and night saw the temperature climb to 5.4c, only to fall off back to 2.0c during the early hours.

A lovely sunny morning with the sun now noticably higher in the sky. Having sat in the same place at work for 4 years now you get to see the ever changing solar movements throughout the year - esp since I face directly south. The worst time is Nov-Jan as the sun is at eye level from about 10am until sunset so it has to be shut out (which I hate having to do!). Now it's only just coming into eye level (at 11:30) but will stay in someones eyes now until sunset. Only April-Aug is it clear of eyes - the glory time!

1.4c the min last night now 5c.

The tmeperature has been up and down like a yoyo today. It started at 6.7c, dropped to 2.7c and is back up to 4.4c now. Quite a difference in temperatures across the West Country this afternoon.

Early drizzle died out and the sun has recently broken through as cloud has slowly begun to clear in the gentle NNE breeze.
