Despite the current mild interlude, I suspect a cold end to February will lead on to a cold start to March. I doubt anything spring like will materialise, so I go for 1.7C below the mean CET in March. In the second half of the month I suspect there will be light air frosts at times and daytime temperatures getting well into double figures on a regular basis. Basically make the most of the next few days, because I think that will be it for yonks. Or the next 3-4 weeks.

ok we have the opposite a very mild end to February but we are due a coldish start to March, then its guess land. A average mid part a very mild end part then cold April start

For March 7.1c :)

I heard yesterday that it`s going to be a colder spring to last year thought last spring was cold.

I really don`t know.

"The coldest March on record occured in 1785, with a CET of 1.2C, 5.1C below todays average".

While the Met Office are predicting a cold spring I don't think we will be seeing a repeat of that month. To put it in perspective a monthly CET that low would make it the coldest month since January 1987.

4.4 C for me, I like to have my own place and not room with strangers.

I'll bet you aren't done with snow yet either.

Right, as I suspected, I must revise my prediction downwards a little. Looks like being a fairly average month.

Down to 6.4C please.

I think it will be a pretty average month with a colder than average first half cancelled out by some milder weather in the 2nd half.

So 6.5c for me. Sorry OT mods but what sort of weather can we expect for Cheltenham this year, G.P.?

Regards,

Tom.

In your nice warm betting shop, the CET for that period will be 24.C.

For me on top of the members grandstand, 4 C for that week. Rerun of the Thinkers Gold Cup - 1987 with Dessie's year combined all over again. Festival nap - Kasbah Bliss.

Yes G.P., might get a bit warm in our office if too many favourites win! :o

Yes some nice snowy conditions a la The Thinkers Gold Cup would be interesting. I do remember a bit of snow further back with Alvertons Gold Cup in 1979.

Remove this if you feel the need to mods but snow, Cheltenham and Peter O'Sullevan. It doesnt get much better!

Regards,

Tom.
