Drove out to the East Coast today - misty all the way but on the coast it was fog-free (if a bit dull). Staithes was frozen in time, as ever. Found some great fossils at Runswick Bay and finished off with fish and chips in the capital of fish and chips - Whitby! (Recommend the Magpie café.)

Very nice pictures Yeti......I know it sounds daft, but your photos remind me very much of my home town Brixham, another picturesque fishing port the other end of the country! :)

Nice to see all the love for Whitby in here. It's a beautiful town, with great character and lots of history with Bram Stoker's Dracula being written and based partly in the town. I was out late last year on a work do, which just happened to be during one of the Goth Weekends. Now that was a crazy evening... It seemed the town doubled in population that night from the visitors: :) It has an amazing atmostphere on those nights and it's well worth seeing just for the spectacle alone.

As for the Fish and Chips, I'd have to say I'm biased towards Scarborough, but I can't deny that the fish they land up in Whitby are among the nicest I've ever had.... :)
