 A 100% archetypal spring day here in Mid Sussex. Its quite warm, the sun is shinning, it's relatively cloud free apart from a few contrails and all the birds are singing like its a major competition.

It just doesn't get much better than this, now if only I wasn't at work today...... :)

Looks like we may well hit the 15C mark today despite some people dismissing the prospects yesterday.

14:00 temperatures:

Charlwood (58 m) 14.8°

London-Heathrow AP (25 m) 14.3°

London-Gatwick (62 m) 14°

Mildenhall Royal Air Force (10 m) 14°

Cambridge (15 m) 14°

Southend-on-Sea AP (15 m) 14°

London City AP (5 m) 14°

London Weather Center (43 m) 13.7°

Slightly more cloud has led to a slight fall here...currently at 12.6C, after an earlier high of 13.6C. All in all, a beautiful day and it's been glorious outside in it.

14:00 temperatures:

Charlwood (58 m) 14.8°

Nearly had a very isolated 15C there in Charlwood but doesn't look to have made it...latest reading for that area down to 14.4 °C. As I expected we don't appear to have reached the 15C mark anywhere but won't know for sure until tomorrow.

Here it's been dismal; awfully mild and overcast all day with highs reaching 12.8 °C. Now falling away somewhat at 11.6 °C.

But that's the reading at the top of the hour - it could've easily reached 15C in between 2 and 3pm :drunk:

It's been sunny here all day, a brief hour or so of thick high cloud, but now the suns out again. We've been hovering around the 16C mark all day. Very warm outside, definately T-shirt and shorts weather. :D

Yeah that's why I said "doesn't appear to" but of course the 14.8 figure could have been inflated to start off with anyway, it has to go through quality control by the Met Office first as those are merely provisional figures.

I don't recall anyone saying there would be anything more than the odd 15C in places today. :D Maidstone Weather is also spot on in that 15C may have been breached between the hourly readings. We will find out tomorrow. Whether its 14.8C or 15.0C its been a super day for many in the south and east with temperatures widely above 12C, and even further north under the cloud its been very much on the mild side. Neil King's map there from weatheronline shows a large majority of Britain into double figures this afternoon, and for late February that is pretty good going, especially after the long cold spell we had. All in all, fantastic stuff. :drunk:

Agree completely mate. Don't worry this dire spell is coming to an end now, early next week things pick up again with the risk of widespread frosts returning and sleet/snow in places, crucially temps will be back down to reasonable levels for the time of year :drunk:

:drunk: This morning was beautiful with plenty of bright sunshine and scattered Cumulus which lifted the temperature to 10.5c (today's maximum), however around lunchtime the wind increased to a gusty WNW'ly and since then it's been cloudy and cool with Stratocumulus. The current temperature is 8.2c with humidity at 73%.

Mostly cloudy day with bright spells here, felt mild but i would not say its been a warm day because of the lack of sunshine. Sun has came out late afternoon however which is pretty frustrating too say the least.

I'm sure somewhere would of recorded 15C today but generally in the SE, 13-14C has been the max's today.

Well the maximum in my garden was a balmy 16.1, but that's hardly under standard conditions and definitely unofficial. Mainly sunny, clouded over late afternoon, currently 10.4, maximum 16.1, last night's minimum 5.9.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to turning the heating up, getting cold & wet again every morning and hearing the whinging from missus/workmates about how it's too cold! :D

11.1c the max today and overcast all day bar a tiny bit of sunshine as the sun was setting. Hope the weekend turns out as nice as last weekend did!
