Currently 4.8C, with a freshening WNW wind. Lots of cloud coming down from the NW.

    Too warm for snow?

    Wind Direction: NNWly

    Wind Speed: 4mph

    Temperature: 3.9ºC steadily going down

    Dew Point: -6.1

    Cloudy

I'm hoping that band set to hit Northern Scotland within' the next few minutes will makes its way down to the North-West, it should be a fairly cold night and hopefully that precipitation (more probable to be sleet in Scotland) turns to snow here tonight.

Sunny here all day, up to 5C. Some interesting clouds, including Cb cells, out over the Irish Sea, which I presume contain rain or hail, or maybe sleet.

Don't build your hopes up about snow tonight. Temperatures will hit 5-6C. Only the backward edge of this band promises any snow, and that should be wet and sleety in nature.

-4 this morning but dw points so low that just a little frost formed, however the ground was frozen hard.

Sunny all day with just some scattered fair weather cumulus, max of 5c but felt much warmer than past few days cause there was no wind.

Clear and starry evening and close to freezing already.

Looks like it Peter, the radar shows a clump of precipitation in N/W scotland which I presume to be rain. Keep us updated on the temperatures as the warm are approaches and passes if you can.

I would paul - honestly. But, I think I'll be tucked-up in my bed when a "few patches of drizzle" pass over my house.

I've got a feeling that the warm air will pass through Inverness quite quickly, and it won't be long before temperatures start dropping again.

Temperature steadily increasing, and now getting cloudy. 2.7c

I wonder if it has started cooling off in Northern Scotland yet.

And this band of rain doesn't look like much on the radar.

A whopping +2.8c here now as the heatwave marches in.

Looks like I'm lying on top of the quilt, with the windows open tonight. Phew!
