Great start to the day here, forecast say cloud cover in the morning, but we have clear skies, mist in the distance, and dense fog on lower ground, with a notable frost

Cold & grey with a low of 2.3c now 4.3c so feeling much like a winters morning again. Having been able to cycle in just a t-shirt on Monday night it's now back to full winter weather gear. Such be the way of spring...

Yes a horrible dull chilly easterly this morning, not warm or cold enough to be of any use, last friday it was looking a pretty lengthy warm spell but the models downgraded it as usual with now a chilly easterly and chilly northerly next week, not what we want as we pass the spring equinox.

yes there are huge differences across the country, here much the same;

the airports of EMA, Teeside, Doncaster all in fog and low Stratus along with Birmingham and Manchester. Areas of Lincs, the Midlands, mainly the east, into parts of Gt Manchester and Cheshire, and through the Trent valley up into the Vale of York all seem badly affected.

Grey misty start in Exeter but the sun is coming through and I expect blue skies and sunshine come lunchtime.

Despite sunshine from the word go, temperature have really struggled to rise this morning for some reason. Last week by 10am it was 11C struggling today to get into double figures by the same time. Although still possible, mid teens today looks unlikely.

Current temperature: 9.8C

Minimum temperature: 5.9C

Not what you want. I wouldnt mind it at all, it gives some variety and the chance of some spectacular convective wintry showers :lol:

Quite a nice day today and much cooler than recently. The min was 3.3C and its now 7.8C and sunny.

I find it rather odd that Eugene is only looking for warmth now whereas well into April last year he was only interested in cold. Not many people go from one extreme to the other that quickly!

Certainly one of those classic spring "switch-arounds" from conditions bordering on the summerlike to a chill reminder of winter looks plausible, but not a certainty yet by any means. In Exeter, meanwhile, it's still very hazy but as expected there's plenty of sunshine now.

The temperature is really struggling here, only 8.3c under a thick cover of Stratus. Feeling doubtful that this layer of murk will lift now.
