Surprised no-one has started a thread on easter 2008 which happened this time last year a very early one. I will remember it as a notably cold and snowy one (snowier than 1998) probably the snowiest since 1983. We recorded snowfall on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th plenty of snow showers with very large flakes I recall.

Woke up to a couple of inches on Easter Sunday which although it cleared by afternoon certainly was a pleasant surprise.

Anyone else have fond memories of last easters weather.

Easter 2008 was a great surprise, I watched the snow start falling in the early hours then it continued until about 9 in the morning. In the end we had 10cm of lying snow but it was all gone by the afternoon with some localised flooding.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
