Dry, chilly and breezy here with sunny intervals. Temp' is 3.2c.

March will be the 6th consecutive month with below average rainfall at this location, the last time there were 6 consecutive drier than average months was in 1995.

In addition there's also a good chance it will be the driest first quarter of any year since 1993. We've had 179.5 mm so far so it would take 15mm in the remaining days of March to catch 2003; this seems very unlikely.

1993 had only 130.8 mm in the first quarter so we're well past that mark.

A dry and overcast start, also becoming windy again. At observation, windy and overcast with slight drizzle. The windy conditions persisted throughout the day with westerly gusts again exceeding 40mph in showers. The temperature initially reached 12.9c during the late morning, but fell back through the afternoon to 7c.

5.6c low last night and made it to 9.2c today so far but now 7.6c after a hail shower. Very windy, cold feeling and dull. If we could get sunshine between the showers I'd enjoy it more!

Just off to Coventry for trhe weekend.

Clear /sunny intervals so far today. There were prolonged, and at times, rather heavy rain with a little sleet showers 0930 til 1030. Rather cool but not bad in the sunny intervals.

Min: 3.8c (but down lower to 3.3c in the showers 1030).

Max so far: 8.4c (1300).

Rain yesterday: 0.5mm

Rain since 0900: 2.1mm.

Currently: Sunny intervals, dry, cool westerly breeze.

Temp: 8.0c

Pressure: 996mbar, steady.

An absolute classic British day of sunshine and showers, the heaviest of which came in mid-morning. A brisk, gusty WNW wind and the temperature is currently 8.1c after a maximum so far of 9.0c, to show the fluctuations it was down to 6.9c just 15 minutes ago, humidity is 73%. All varieties of cloud : cumulus, altocumulus, stratocumulus, cumulonimbus, cirrus.

This morning in Exeter has also featured classic "sunshine and showers" conditions, though now it's gone cloudier with not much sun in between the showers. Just having a hail shower at the moment.
