Well a disappointing day really, cloudy to start then the sun broke through around 11.30 and it was looking good for a warm sunny day, however the cloud rolled back in less than an hour later and has stuck with us since. Temperature 15.8C so one plus is its not too cool.

A lovely Spring day with long sunny spells between the areas of Altocumulus and Stratocumulus. The sunniest was between 10.00 - 13.30 and the cloudiest is at the moment. Quite a brisk ESE breeze at times, blowing off of Salisbury Plain, with the temperature 15.3c and humidity 52%.

PS... Windswept : going by your conditions as posted how is today 'disappointing' and, in those terms, how would you describe a wet & windy day? I'm guessing you would have liked more sun.

I would personally find Windswept's day 'disappointing' in that it sounds like it's been dull all day except for a one-hour spell when the sun came out. Many of us think of cloudy but dry and warm as being good weather, but I personally find it boring (and in Exeter we had it yesterday and the day before).

I remember back in August 2008 in Norwich having some dull dry days interspersed with days of sun, showers and thunder, hearing the bright showery days described as "awful" and the dull dry days as "fine and dry" and not liking it!

No complaints from Exeter today though, where it has been mostly sunny since mid-morning.

Yes you are right I was expecting the cloud to burn off and have at least a sunny afternoon, i guess I was just expecting a little too much for the time of year and with lots of others posting how sunny its been........

Better day today though still largely cloudy but with more breaks than recent days, still sunday is the yardstick with its clear crystal blue skies the skies still have that dirty look to it today with lots of cloud around and only limited blue sky, GFS 2M min temps way off last night it was going for 3C but it was 7C, all due to cloud cover hopefully the cloud will clear tonight to allow a ground frost, i dont agree this is a warm spell as in April 29C has beeen reached, 20C+ is a warm spell in April, like in early April 2001 with 21C being reached.
