A cloudy day today and cooler than recent days with a max of 10.8C. Mostly moderate rain from just before 4pm to just before 7pm gave 5.0mm of rain. The back edge of the front was starting to clear around sunset and the result was a nice sunset on one side of the sky and a rainbow on the other!

Not a bad day until mid afternoon when the clouds quickly darkened bringing rain by 5pm resulting in an early dusk and some moderate bursts of rain off and on since.. Been a while since we have had an evening like todays - forgotton how miserable a dark wet evening can bring - it feels like a november evening..., I can see plenty more evenings of same ilk this week as I don't think we will see much in the way of brightness, never do when there is a SW/W airstream we just get pounded by rain or showers or low cloud and mist..

Compared with yesterday today was rather disappointing as it felt a lot cooler, even though on the thermometer it showed 14 degrees. We have have a cool wind and high cloud for most of the day. I was hoping for some rain tonight but the latest bbc forecast show nothing for us until at least Wenesday. The ground is bone dry here at the minute.

It looks like we won't get any at all here in the south east, despite what this mornings forecast said.

It seems that the rain has broken up in the HP and milder air.
