Wind Data In Newcastle

Hi,

I am looking for wind data recordings in the Newcastle-upon-Tyne area for a research project. I have tried to obtain wind timeseries from Newcastle Airport, but so far they have completely ignored me. Does anybody have, or know where to find, wind data timeseries for this area?
