A ground frost was detected before midnight, grass minimum –0.4c. Cloud increased during the early hours bringing rain and milder air, so a damp and cloudy start to the day. At observation, cloudy with light rain, breezy. The day continued mostly overcast with only brief bright spells and with further outbreaks of rain, mainly light, but with a few short moderate bursts. Top temperature 14.8c. Maximum wind gust 25mph, SE.

So what happened to the rain? It went missing again!

I heard some light rain this morning (from the comfort of my bed - ahhh bank holiday lie ins!) but nothing recorded. So far 3mm this month.

Well surprisingly it's been a dry day so far as heavy rain moved up just 5 miles to the East earlier while a further band lies out West, we've had some hazy sunshine between a lot of Stratocumulus and all manner of mid-level cloud. The temperature is 12.1c and humidity 81% with a gentle SSW breeze.

So, as of now, this month's lack of rainfall continues with the current total at 5.5mm while just 5 miles away about 3 times as much as that fell earlier this morning !

A bit of a damp squib all in all here but I guess it was forecast. Cloudy and dull but calm and quite mild at 12.4C after a minimum of 9.8C. I have yet to recorded a night minimum in double figures.

Temp peaked at 15.2c at around 11.15am its now dropped a bit to 14c, still cloudy with a little bit more rain about but nothing too heavy.
