Fantastic afternoon here, it was a bit cloudy and hazy this morning but it cleared around midday to leave almost cloudless skies and the temperature exceeded 16C this afternoon which felt very pleasant even with the breeze. The sun is getting very strong as well now (same strength as late August, although I'm led to believe its stronger in spring because of the tilt of the earth), it makes such a big difference once it comes out!

Light rain, 9.4c, 88% humidity, calm.

Despite persistent drizzle/light rain/moderate rain since around 07.00 still only 3.5mm in the gauge from today, so the monthly total still at barely half an inch!!

Turned chilly here especially with that heat stripping chilly east wind. 9.2c at mo which is lower than recent days by this time. Clear skies cooling it off- just hope it stays clear till morning. Don't fancy half the day ruined by the dreaded North Sea Low Cloud!

Rain lasted most of the morning though nothing was that heavy, just persistent moderate rain which was great for the garden. The afternoon was then dull and increasingly misty and in contrast to Thursday, it felt very chilly!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
