Evening,

Another stunning day in Cheshire. Wall to wall sunshine. Max 20.6C. Time for a pint of Alpine lager in the Ye Olde Parkgate Inn beer garden.

Temps have been 2'c above predicted max on the GFS, and this coming week temps of up to 21'c are forecast so 23'c, possibly a isolated 25'c is likely anywhere in the South. With temps seemingly to drop off by Monday.

Quite a few 25.c reported only around the leeds and bradford area perhaps a pocket of warm air.

Fantastic day here, almost unbroken sunshine and very strong sun too. I have recorded 20C this afternoon and it seems another local weather station has also reached 20C.

more like some of you have badly sited thermometers

22C i MIGHT believe, higher than that is pretty unlikely in my view.

none of about 10 stations I have access to show above 23C and only one, most others show between 20C and 21C+

Not here on the coast Nigel, only reached a maximum of 15.1oc, but felt quite pleasant if you could find a sheltered spot out of the chilly easterly/south easterly wind at least the low cloud /mist has retreated and long may it stay away too!!

Should feel warmer tomorrow with predominately westerly winds

I agree - I think a genuine 20C will be the maximum somewhere today. It is very still today with low dew points, so any temperature recordings outside a Stevenson screen are likely to be subject to localised heating effects with so little air movement to stir things up.

Hi frosty,

If you have a weather station, feeding live data to the internet, all you need do is copy the image location and then insert the URL in to your signature under insert image option.

Lovely sunny day again and without the sea breeze we had yesterday, a few cumuls clouds have bubbled up but still had the warmest day of the year so far, with a max of 19.0c today currently 16.8c

Looks likely we may outpeak todays temp as the week goes on, maybe even the magic 20c.

We have definatley surpassed 20.c here

Follow this link, it shows a map of weather stations across the Leeds and bradford area and the majority are reading 21/22/23.c atm, also if you navigate the map south, south yorkshire/east/north yorkshire are recording lower temps of around 16/17/18.c. Does anyone know what that effect is when cold air crosses over the mountains/pennines/ and when it moves down the temps increase significanltey, i think its called the fohan effect??

Whoops my bad, http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/ ignore the lower temps around north and north west leeds because the ground is around 200m asl so i would add an extra 2.c on to that for the temp at om
