Verne Carlson was streaming from Paul S favorite place Garden City Kansas last night http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif and the

stream he had was superb not to mention the close call he had when things took a turn for the

worst where spin-ups were all around him..!!

Should be great internet 'TV' tonight just hope the storms deliver like they did last night..

Just as a heads up about data coverage today, hopefully it'll be ok depending on how far east Paul decides to head - northwest oklahoma isn't great should they end up in that neck of the woods.

We're hoping to pick up a fall back or replacement data card to fill in for the black spots which happen to be in regular chase locations, so we'll hopefully have a much more solid connection soon, across all regions.

Thanks for the update Paul. Stream seems miles better today (so far), it does pause briefly every now and again but compared to last night it is brilliant.

Yep, central Oklahoma and into Kansas should be pretty good.

They're literally in a dial up speed area at the moment, which is why it's loading frame by frame. The streaming encoder we're using is using a really good compression system to make the stream high quality but low bandwidth, so it's not that - in fact it downgrades the quality as low as it'll go as the connection worsens, but at some point it has to start dropping frames too.

Many areas to the north of Oklahoma city and also much of Kansas is at broadband speed, so if they head up that way the connection will improve dramatically.

We've been tweaking some settings both on the player and the encoder at their end to try and get every last ounce out of the available net connection at their end, hopefully it'll help a bit - it defo seems to have done.

Could you ask the storms to be in a high coverage area today please? Thanks :)

Only because we mounted the data card on a tripod on the roof of the 2nd car (doghouse) :)

Coverage was that poor

I've just got a black default screen with a smaller version of the circle going round in the middle? :)

If I click 'play' on either the live stream or a video from the chase team I'd like to view the video and not an advert for 'Chicken Bites' before having to click the link again to view the video! http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif !

Well look at it this way folks, something has to pay for our FREE access to LIVE video streaming. Just turn the volume down, go and grab a cold one and by the time you get back to the 'puter the ad will have finished.
