FRIDAY 24TH APRIL: Frontal Approach

Friday saw the destabilisation of high pressure over the west of the UK. Heavy rain and downpours were already affecting the coasts of Devon and Cornwall but were making slow progress eastwards. Ahead of the rain band the air was warm and quite humid with unstable skies I usually associate with thundery plumes between May and September. These were taken shortly after 5.30pm.

SATURDAY 25TH APRIL: April Showers

After Friday's front weakened to give a mere 2mm of rain overnight, the air was much clearer and fresher behind with a few showers building in the area. None affected my location but some passed nearby throughout the mid-afternoon.

SUNDAY 26TH APRIL: Evening Showers

After a predominantly dry Sunday with sunny intervals, a few showers, mostly light in nature blew through during the early hours of the evening. An attempt at a rainbow followed and a nice sunset ended the day as the clouds all dissipated ahead of Monday's deluge.
