Started the day at Clinton (Ok) and headed South to the Chase Target of Vernon (Tx) for Lunch. On grabbing data it became pretty apparant that Initiation would occur just to our South West and a Cell Exploded near Benjamin (Tx) at about 230pm.

Got straight on the road to Intercept the Cell and got to it within about 35 Minutes of its birth. Took a calculated risk to steer the Team down the East Side of the now HP Supercell, drivers were flashing us that were coming the other day and we knew that Softball Sized Hail was falling with this Storm, luckily we only took a few Baseballs and emerged on the South East side of the storm in the rain free area under the base, on getting there we were then looking at a Rotating Wall Cloud with wrapping rain curtains, it was hard to jostle for position as the Chaser Circus was in full swing down Highway 6, with what appeared to be half of the USA On this Supercell. We witnessed a Circulation just North of Rule (Tx) which was called in as a Tornado at the time we documented it. After passing the TIV & Getting cut up by Reed Timmer we followed the Storm South but it was increasingly going Outflow Dominant with many Gustnados Spotted and Outflow Dust pouring out of the Storm. The Storm then got undercut by the Cold front so we headed off towards Albany, we then had a meeting with the Cops which went pretty well and after showing them how the Barons Worked and talking about the Uk he let us off with a Warning, Pat even had some pictures taken with the Sheriff and the State Trooper. We then were going to call it a day when the Dryline fired up 30 miles to our West so the Chase was on again. Being near Abilene we pre booked our rooms and went to grab some Lightning Photography, little did we know that our Storm quickly became Supercellular and got Tornado Warned, we are pretty sure we documented the Shackleford County Tornado but will have to go through some Video Footage before we can confirm.

Ended the day in Abilene.

Excellent pictures there, Paul. I guess the cops are always impressed if you've got better radar than they have. :D

Sounds like another good day Paul, my favourite picture is the 4th one down. Did anyone get photos of the baseball/softball hail (perhaps while donning a hardhat!) ?

Closest yet in shooting that tornado, first two photos sure look like it was going to deliver and then again as the wall cloud lowered, have to agree with Louise that no.6 is a fantastic photo.

Hi all, we drve North up through near the area of that action but had no way of knowing it was going to be there :-( however we are under storms right now and have been since 4am nearly 3 hours now of lightning and heavy rain, nothing severe but its a nice welcome for us.

Today we are waiting to home in, but looking at NE Tx probably a 200 miles drive, we managed to get Baron activated last night but took over an hour to fire up, still now we have eyes. report laters if we have somet to tell :-)

We have seen so many fatastic supercells each one has on its own merit been stunning. Todays was once again special beacause we sat under the meso and caught a shot of what has been reported as a tornado. I have to say a tornado is only the icing on the cake.
