After a clear and quite cool night with a touch of ground frost, cloud moved in to the area before dawn to produce a little light rain through the morning. At observation, overcast with light rain, feeling cool.

The day dawned cloudy with a little rain, this soon cleared and the morning up to observation has been fresh, bright and breezy with sunny spells. Sunny spells continued through the day, but with low humidity and a fresh NW wind, it felt distinctly chilly. Maximum temperature 13.4c. Maximum wind gust, 29mph from the NW.

Is it me or is the rain heading much further S/SE than expected?

A dry day so far here with lightbulb sun shining at times through the Cirrus but a lot of Cumulus too, a brisk WNW wind and temperature of 12.3c with humidity at 64%.

I have a range of kagools, overcoats, raincoats, drover coats, barbours, and fleeces; I have three grades of thermal underwear; I have hill-walking kit, mountaineering and ice climbing kit, and skiing kit; I have thermal trousers, waterproof trousers, and thermal waterproof trousers; I have more kinds of boots than that Marcos woman; I have wooly hats, waxed cotton hats and a sou-wester; I have jumpers, jerseys and pullovers in abundance; and I have every conceivable type of glove and mit you could name.

I do not however have anything that's up to a Scottish bank holiday Monday. Summer just around the corner? My aris!

Anyone living in the West Midlands area, through to Leicestershire, who saw the BBC evening weather forecast yesterday evening must be pretty disappointed with today's weather.

The forecast mentioned the possibility of a few spots of drizzle in the wind with any persistent rain much further north whereas there have been pulses of moderate rain moving across the area since early this morning.

Up here there was light rain until around mid-morning but since then it's been dry and cloudy.

Miserable weather here in Northern Snowdonia - Been raining / drizzle since last night and still is. It's also quite windy with wind gusting 30 - 40mph at times with a temperature of 9.1C - Not feeling that nice at all! =(
